Today was my first ‘hands on’ day as a design student. I had a 3 hour crash course on the basics of Adobe Illustrator. Basically we covered zooming, selecting, keyboard shortcuts and making basic shapes and designs. It was all an insane amount of information to take in but I think I absorbed a good amount considering I have zero experience with the program.
As soon as I got home I opened Illustrator and started drawing weird shapes and goofing around. I then decided to start making a logo for my mum’s business (iCAT) and only a few short hours later I had the image you see above. While I’m not 100% happy with it and know I have so much more to learn, it felt great to be able to get a mental image out onto the screen. I really can’t wait to learn more about the program and design in general.
In the mean time, have a look at the logo and hit me with some feedback or any hints/tips.
