There is a difference between “working hard” and “hard work”. Many people can get these two confused and end up in a pretty bad situation, so allow to me help define the difference between the two.

“Working hard” is progressive, it requires dedication and concentration on a subject that feels natural to you and should be embraced. I’ve recently become fascinated with film making and I think that is a great example because sometimes it takes hundreds, or even thousands of hours to bring a film together that is only two hours long. That is a perfect example of working hard, the passion of the people involved shows especially well when you see the finished product and it is near perfect.

“Hard work” is detrimental and implies repulsion, difficulty and is most likely making you a bitter person and should be rejected. If you are in a situation where you are “working hard” then you’re probably on the right track.

If you’re unfortunately in a situation that you would consider “hard work” you’re going in the wrong direction and should divert immediately. The worst part about “hard work” is that is can be easily mistaken for “working hard” and you could spend years doing the wrong thing only to wake up one day and realize the mistake you have made.

Just a thought I had…
